About The Event
Join us for the Celebrate Tom Walton 5K & 6-Miler, a special event in Concord honoring the life, impact, and legacy of longtime NHTI coach, educator, and community leader Tom Walton.
Participants can choose between 3-mile and 6-mile race options, with both in-person and virtual participation available. This event brings together runners, students, and community members to remember a person who shaped countless lives through athletics, mentorship, and education.
Tom Walton played a foundational role in the local running community, including helping establish the Capital Area Race Series. As head coach of NHTI’s cross country programs from 2006–2016, he led teams to multiple conference championships and national appearances, while emphasizing both athletic and academic excellence.
